Sweeten naturally with whole foods, easy and convenient date puree. Use this date purée to substitute maple syrup or sugar in recipes. I love using dates to sweeten and puréeing the dates solves the problem of chunky dates in my smoothie! Sweeten dairy-free cappuccinos and smoothies, cakes and dessert recipes. (I’m thinking a banana caramel pie…)
May be stored in the fridge for 7-10 days, if it survives that long it’s so delicious! Can be frozen.
2/3 cup boiling water
Place 10 dates in a saucepan with boiling water and allow to rest for 1 hour.
Bring the mixture to boil for 10 minutes until the dates are very soft.
Place mixture in a blender and blend until very smooth. (Optional, strain through a sieve for a super smooth purée).
Patience is rewarded with this sticky date pudding flavour purée. Blend with pure cream for a smooth caramel cream topper. 🌿
